Peak Stupidity is COVID’s Number-One Symptom

The world has become more stupid than I ever thought human beings could collectively become, and I was always certain that human beings could be quite stupid! Today, the stupid train picked up a full load, hit full velocity and flew off the rails. This medical news strains the outer limits of my mind.

It also strains the limits of my personal calm space as hospitals move into exactly the dire situation I said the Biden Mandates (BMs) would place them in; yet, look at how they try to resolve it:

Hospitals choose staff WITH COVID over staff WITHOUT COVID!

Politico reports that hospitals that fired about 5% of their staff for not getting vaccinated are now surprisingly shorthanded by about 5% because so many of the vaccinated staff are getting COVID! Therefore, they are allowing the vaccinated staff members who have COVID to return to work WITH COVID because they desperately need the staff, but they are still not letting the unvaccinated staff members who do NOT have COVID return.

Because that makes sense.

Hospitals and long-term care facilities are so short staffed that many are compelling Covid-positive doctors and nurses to return to work, arguing that bringing back asymptomatic or even symptomatic staff is the only way they can keep their doors open amid a spike in hospitalizations.

The practice, allowed by the most recent CDC guidance, underscores the dire situation in which many facilities find themselves as more than 120,000 people nationwide are now hospitalized with the virus — almost three times the total from Thanksgiving when Omicron was first detected….

“Our staffing situation has been the worst it’s been since the spring of 2020.” Three hundred of his 3,700 workers are out, many infected with Covid-19.

Politico

Yet, many who are not infected with COVID were simply kicked out because they were unvaccinated, even though many of them already had COVID so have naturally enhanced immunity.

While most health workers are vaccinated, many are still falling sick, exacerbating a staff shortage as more Americans seek hospital care…. And there are no requirements that patients be notified if their caregiver is sick…. And the practice is happening across the country…. Health care workers around the country have reported that they are being called in to work even if they suspect they are infectious….

“It’s comparable to March, April, May 2020. I have not seen health care workers as panicked as they are now since that time,” said Debbie White, a registered nurse and president of New Jersey’s largest health care union, HPAE, which opposes the CDC’s guidance….

Nearly all said they are following the CDC’s new advice. That guidance, released last month, allows facilities to bring back workers after five days of isolation, instead of 10, without a negative Covid-19 test. In cases where workforce shortages become extreme, hospitals can bring back staff without any isolation period.

It’s worse than “without any isolation period.” The CDC is even allowing them back without testing and with active symptoms. Wouldn’t you love to have a person with COVID coughing or sneezing over you in your hospital bed, rather than a perfectly healthy unvaccinated person? (Because that makes sense!)

Here is an example of how that plays out provided to me by my own daughter-in-law today from the hospital that fired her from the obstetrics ward she worked in as a surgical tech because she refused to vaccinate: (She refused because she is pregnant, and the vaccine has not been adequately tested on pregnant women. Oh, the irony of being fired as a pregnant woman from an obstetrics ward because you won’t do the one thing obstetricians are always telling pregnant women not to do — don’t take drugs that haven’t been thoroughly tested on small groups of pregnant women in carefully monitored and controlled studies.)

Peak, screaming insanity

Apparently, it is more important while we are in crisis mode to be vaccinated when treating patients than to be COVID free. Notice there is no section in the above document explaining how the “Return-to-work guidance for COVID 19 infection” applies to the unvaccinated workers. That is because they cannot return to work, period. They are considered fired and gone — no longer available even for consideration under the emergency guidelines. And yet, this same hospital is paying double the usual salary for traveling surgical techs who are vaccinated to come and help, which — according to the Politico article and this hospital document that implements the CDC guidelines — could be even if they are sick and symptomatic!

Anecdotally, between 5 and 7 percent of employees at several academic medical centers are out sick with Covid-19, said Janis Orlowski, chief health care officer at the Association of American Medical Colleges

And, so, hospitals that fired about 5% of their staff because they weren’t vaccinated for COVID are now allowing people who were vaccinated for Covid who currently HAVE Covid to come back to work even though they’re sick because they’re understaffed by about 5%, leaving them desperate for the help!

Because that makes sense.

But does that small percentage that were fired matter?

On Monday, Elnahal said FEMA is likely to send his hospital 10 staff, exceeding his expectations. “Everything helps,” he said.

So, even a mere ten people helps, but “Let’s keep those unvaccinated, professional staff out of here! We won’t hire them back even though forty of them already had COVID so have natural immunity and are not sick because their natural immunity is working better for them than the vaccine (which we refuse to admit).” After all, hiring back the healthy ones they fired over the vaccine would mean admitting they were wrong. Something hospitals never do.

And to think I warned of this situation hospitals are now calling “dire” back in October:

Hospitals were already seriously understaffed, and COVID fatigue is imperiling their ability to provide care: “Hospitals taxed by the pandemic over the last 20 months have a new problem: Labor strife and a wave of resignations have people waiting longer for care. Months of marathon shifts, an onslaught of verbal and even physical abuse from patients and the public, and perennial complaints over low pay and staffing shortages are stirring unrest at a particularly critical moment in the pandemic…. More than a half million health care workers quit in August…. That’s the most in a single month in more than 20 years.” Now Biden and some governors are stripping critical medical staff down even further with their vaccine mandates…. Biden’s mandate madness is making us all less safe from COVID by cutting our skeleton crews of healthcare workers to the bone just as the months arrive when flu season will likely amplify COVID contagion! As a result, hospital workers who were lauded as heroes prior to the vaccines are now being forced out with no dignity or thanks because of their refusal to vaccinate. If they were considered a great help back then when they were unvaccinated, why are they deemed now as being more hinderance than help because of their unvaccinated condition?

Biden’s Mandate Madness Divides the Nation and Worsens the Covid Crisis

And, so, once again we’ve arrived right where I said the mandate madness would take us — understaffed, over-stressed … and less safe from COVID and every other sickness that requires hospitalization because of the mandates. Thank you, Brandon!

Biden tested and found wanting

Hospitals’ decision to not require a negative test before returning is partly due to the nationwide testing shortage.

Politico

Still? Two years after all of this began, we don’t even have reliable, quality testing or any testing in sufficient quantity … even for hospitals? And we THINK we’re the greatest nation on Earth? Let’s go, Brandon! Time to stop sleeping and sniffing hair and roll out those tests.

Jumpin’ Joe’s solution?

Governors including those in Arkansas, Georgia, Ohio, Oregon and Pennsylvania have called up hundreds of National Guard to assist hospitals, though they aren’t necessarily medically trained, according to a National Guard spokesperson.

So, better to have untrained personnel — even if they have COVID and have symptoms — than to have unvaccinated professionals with natural immunity who have no symptoms back to working in the hospitals they are already familiar with.

Got it.

Thanks, Brandon!

Meanwhile, in my own situation, the school that fired me over the vaccine is now understaffed because 30% of its remaining staff have COVID, but I’m feeling fine and am available for work, yet I’m not allowed to return! So, they’ve closed their doors to students until this part of the plague passes.

You can’t fix stupid.
